Welcome to San Joaquin Interiors
Jerry Burell is no stranger when it comes to hard work. In 1967, while working in the floor covering industry, Burell knew that he could own his own business. The idea took root in him as he watched his boss take care of customers, order product, and deliver with satisfaction. Burell observed what it took to keep the pulse of a business alive, used his experience, and turned an idea into a reality. Since he had no money, but a great idea, his father and a friend were willing to take a chance on Burell, and offer a business loan. At 27 years old, he opened San Joaquin Floor Coverings on Chester Avenue. It was a modest business with only four installers, but Burell made sure every customer was treated with the utmost care. Here it is, 40 years later and Burell is still treating customers as if they were his first. He moved to the current location on Ming Ave. in 1972 and in 1979, the name changed to San Joaquin Interiors with the addition of two partners, Lawrence Claudino and Vernon Rhoades. Through all the changes, Burell maintained and even increased the customer base with new partners at his side. But with a larger customer base, there came a need for larger space. San Joaquin Interiors opened a new warehouse and showroom on District Boulevard in 1986 to serve home-owners wanting a fresh look for their homes.
